Gray and Purple Birthday Card

I do have happy news for today! Oliver passed his Canine Good Citizen test!! I couldn't be happier. We worked really hard, and it payed off. Now I'm finally motivated to turn in his AKC registration papers. The CGC certification will go with his AKC number, and if we start competing in agility, and titles he wins will also go under his registry. Our first Agility class is still a couple weeks away, so I'm gonna try a few more tricks with him. I think "spin" and "crawl" will be next.
It's such a relief to have the test over with. Because I have several cards I need to make.

Speaking of cards, I have one that I made for today...

I'm a little disappointed with the picture quality, but it was nighttime when I took it. This one is for a friend of mine at work. Her birthday is actually tomorrow, and she's celebrating her 2nd annual 29th birthday. We had a surprise party for her last week at work.
I used the Medallion stamp from SU! and stamped it with Rich Razzleberry ink.

Hmm, it focused on the bow instead of the Happy Birthday. I was in a hurry. Oh well. I'm really happy with how it turned out.
I'm a big fan of the Medallion stamp. I can see it being great for all sorts of things.

I hope everyone is enjoying their Memorial Day.

Oliver's Bang Trick

I have been working with Oliver on various things for some time now. We had been working on 'roll over' in hopes of turning it into 'bang'. We sort of put a hold on that when we started taking the Advanced Training Class to prepare for the Canine Good Citizen test. Well the test is tomorrow...so hopefully I'll have a happy post tomorrow..but maybe not. So I'll take care of it today.

He's been doing this trick with a varying degree of reliability for about a week now...but if no one sees it, they won't believe me...so I filmed it.

I'm pretty pleased with myself. Jonathan is happy that at least he had a dog that does cool tricks...even if he is tiny and adorable.

Hope it makes you smile as much as it makes me smile.

Grad Party Decorations

Well, it's finally over. Katie's graduation and the party. I couldn't be happier. Now I can return to all of the other things I need to do.

I was mostly in charge of decorations for the party. This is what I came up with...

Flowers using my i-Top to make the centers. I used my i-rock to put "KT" on this one. KTO wouldn't fit.

Ray-Pec colors are black and gold..so that's the theme here. I glued all the flowers into glass flower pots and we filled them with black white and gold M&Ms. Yum.

The panther logo.

We also payed tribute to the college Katie is going to in the fall...UCM.

She's going to be a Marching Mule, so we'll have to go to a few college football games to see her.

I didn't make the cake..but it was tasty.

The glitter paper was really hard to use for the brads. But it looked so good...many of them are glued together...anything to make it work.

What's that? You always wanted your face on a brad in the center of a flower?

That's what I thought.

The party was a success, I think everyone had a lot of fun. I have tons of pictures, but I will spare you the details.

We will now return to our regularly scheduled programming. I have a birthday card in the wings, one I'm getting ready to make, and a baby shower card in the works.
This Sunday is Oliver's big test...yeah, the Canine Good Citizen test. We've been working very hard to make sure we pass...but I'm not sure. At any rate he will graduate from Advanced Training on Sunday whether or not we pass the CGC test. We can take it as many times as we need to pass...I think he'll be very close, but it's all or nothing..no 90% or anything!
I think I also promised yard photos...man I've got a lot to do.

Prom 2011

We interrupt your regularly scheduled programming to bring you an episode on the KT93.

See, I said I'd have Prom pictures up this weekend...some of you didn't believe me..

This is how I spent my Saturday. I got a free meal at my mom's so it was worth it. It's Katie's senior prom. She had her hair done, which I am glad because I've done it in the past...and I just simply don't have that kind of time...or skill for that matter.

She wore converse shoes...why, because she's smart. You know if you wear heels, you'll just take them off...and it's gross to run around barefoot...and if you don't take them off...then it's dumb to be miserable.

This was the 1 photo she wanted. It was a huge dress.

I like black and white. This is one of my favorites.

Her best friend Leah met us at the house before Katie's date showed up.

This is mainly why I had to show up...to lace the dress.

She was melting..I think.

Tyler trying to put on the corsage.

He's very trusting...KT and sharp pins...

He was a good sport about all the photo taking.

It's good that they took a limo.

Another friend, Alexis. We totally invaded her house to take pictures of the group before they left.

A few more photos before they left to go to dinner.

The last ones in..just in case she didn't fit and had to ride in the trunk.

I think she had a great time. I've been busy today, and she had to work. I met with a fellow Puppy Classmate to train our dogs a bit. It's only 2 more weeks until our Canine Good Citizen test....it's pretty much consuming my thoughts. Oliver is very close. We just might have a shot at passing.

I've been busy working on graduation party things...they're almost finished, which is good because it's next weekend...

LSW Grad Card

It's been very busy around the Casa de Rodgers. Yesterday was my day off after working the weekend, and the only day to accomplish a few things until this weekend..which is filling up. It's my sister's prom and I've been named official handler...which means I have to spend all day out there on Saturday. She's going to look great, so I guess I'm ok with it. Look for pictures this weekend.

I've been dying to post some yard stuff..but it's not quite done yet. I made great progress yesterday though. I bought a few more hosta to go around the water fountain that Jon made...I'm really dying to post some pics of it....it is WONDERFUL! I mulched that whole flower bed, filled in the walkway and put down grass seed, and I started mulching our side bed under our birch tree. Last week we got some hosta from a co-worker of mine, they are perfect for under the tree. As soon as the mulching and such is done I'm going to put some before (when we bought the place) and after pictures up...it's going to be great.

But anyway, today since it's graduation time I thought I would post a grad card I made for my cousin.

Her party was last weekend. I had to work, but Jonathan was a great representation from Team Rodgers. She is going to graduate from Lee's Summit West. Their colors are blue, black and silver. I used my Cuttlebug on the silver paper. It's sort of shiny, I'm not sure you can tell.

The stamp is from Hobby Lobby..I love that place. I embossed it with silver powder...it's shiny too.

I used watermark ink to stamp the congratulations in the background. I wrote inside it with a silver pen...pulling out all the stops here!

I heard it was a nice party..I wish I could have been there.

I'm gearing up for my sister's party. I am knee deep in decorations. Wait until you see them...they're the best non-card project I've done yet! I have her grad card finished too, but I wouldn't want her to stumble upon it, she wants everything to be a surprise...

Mother's Day 2011

It's going to be a Mother's Day Celebration here today.

It seems that my weekend schedule is always going to fall on Mother's Day, so I'm working today. But at least that spares me from the overcrowded restaurants filled with other people and their mothers.

I obviously made cards for my mother and my mother-in-law. I've decided to make my life easier that I will use the same supplies on the cards...look for this on Father's day too.

This one went to Jon's mother. He helped choose the paper. I like him to get involved for things that go to his family.

I decided to break out my new favorite tool, the iTop. Sort of like an iPod, but better. I made those brads, well not the tiny ones, but the ones that perfectly match the other paper. It's a pretty nifty tool..never again will I have to forgo brads because I don't have any that match.

I only have 1 mother's day stamp..so at least there was no decision making to be done.

This one went to my mother. Who doesn't really observe Mother's day, and who cheated and opened her card yesterday. Cheater.

I also used the iTop here for the center of the flowers. I used the iRock to place all the little pearls.

There's that stamp again. I just love this paper, it's perfect for all sorts of cards.

I hope everyone took the time today to appreciate their mother. I would be over at my mom's house pestering her right now except that I have to work...maybe later this week..

Oliver and Bean in the Backyard

We've been busy working all weekend outside!

We've been weeding, we planted dahlias in our front door pots, we planted zinnias in our neighborhood street pot (take that! lady across the street! You can't compete with this!) hostas and impatients in our back shade bed, a festive shade pot, mowing, and we even took Oliver for a bike ride in his basket. I hope to have pictures of this up at some point...I mean our yard is down right festive! But this was the highlight of my day...

I sometimes wonder why we never get anything done...but then I answer my own question..
