Aurora is 2!

My first born just turned 2!!  I can hardly believe it!
She's done so much growing this year I'm completely amazed.  She had an absolutely wonderful birthday week long celebration.
Sunday we had her party.  It was The Very Hungry Caterpillar inspired.

I'm pretty pleased with how my cake turned out.  Much better than expected.  She didn't appreciate it..but maybe she will some day.

Party decorations!

My party food.  This would have been way better if we would have had the proper printer cartridge.  I intended to make little signs with pictures from the book..we had food from the book.  Apples, pears. blueberries (it was plums in the book..I didn't figure that would go over very well.), strawberries, and oranges.  We also had a few other things.  It doesn't matter I suppose, like I said..she doesn't appreciate it yet.

Her party outfit from her Tia.

This girl loves cake.  She had so much cake all week long.

A giant pink zebra from Mik and Papa.  She's crazy about this thing.

She got a new bike from Grammy.  She's already pretty good at riding it.

She got so many great things.  She's been very busy writing thank you notes.

On her actual birthday, her school had Family Fun Night..so we decided to go.  With Grammy and Tia in tow.

They had face painting and balloons.  She was in heaven.  This is a happy face..I realize it looks scary.  I hope she grows out of it.

Grammy brought cake..I told you she had a ton of cake.

We gave her a play kitchen, you can sort of see it in the background.  She ended up with enough accessories for it that we're going to have to build an addition onto our house.

She's so lucky to have so many great people in her life.  She makes me laugh every day and I absolutely love being able to watch her grow up.

Alice and Arden are 1 Month Old

Woah, this month has flown by!
We've been wildly busy.  2 babies is a ton of work.  And we can't forget about Aurora, she's been really good.  It's been an adjustment, but we're getting there.
One month down.. Many more to go.  Check out what the ladies have been up to.

They're getting big.  They're about 8lbs now.

You can tell them apart right?  This is Alice.

Their first group photo.

Going home from the hospital.  They weren't very happy.

I love this one.  Aurora really is going to be an amazing sister.

2 weeks old here.  Seems like Alice is screaming in all the photos...

Oliver loves the boppy.

The girls had their first bath.  It was pretty well tolerated.

Sometimes big sister stacks frogs on your belly.  At least she's not hitting.

They've changed so much already.  We're getting between 4-6 hour stretches at night, which is a good thing.  Hopefully that number keeps trending up.  Alice sleeps longer than Arden, but we wake them both for a night bottle.  They both like to be held.  Arden in particular is a snuggle bug.
We're looking forward to fall.  I love fall.  We're hoping to get some walks in.  And Aurora's birthday is coming up, so stay tuned for that.

Meet Alice and Arden!

They're here finally!
Wow! Being a twin mom is definitely hard.  Really being a twin family is hard, I'd be flat out lying if I denied that Jonathan has done SO much.  And my mom..she's seriously amazing.
The girls came a little bit earlier than planned.  We had originally planned to have them on August 24th, but due to some issues with heart rates for Baby A my doctor decided that August 19th would be better.
Everyone was born completely healthy!
Alice Catherine was born at 920am, weighing 6lb 7oz and 19 inches long.
Arden Claire was born at 922am, weighing 7lb 5oz and 20 inches long.
We had some newborn photos taken this week.  Our new photographer Marissa Cribbs Photography  is really wonderful!  She did an amazing job and I'm really excited to work with her as our girls grow up.

Party of 5!

This girl loves these babies, it doesn't really look like it here, but she's crazy about them.

Aurora was more interested in playing than posing for pictures.

But the few she did cooperate for are awesome!

My everything, all in one picture.

Can you tell them apart yet?  Arden.

I can't believe we got them posed like this.

How about now?  Arden

It's going pretty well so far.  We're starting to settle into a routine.  Most nights we get a 4 hour stretch of sleep from them.  The rest of the day is broken up into 2 hour increments.  They're eating well, and growing so fast already.
You can look forward to Month by Month updates, just like I did with Aurora.  With 2 babies, I'm sure I'll have a lot to talk about.
