Aurora is 5 Months Old!

Woah!  5 months has flown by! My girl is SO big!

She thinks she's pretty funny.

We spend lots of time at Grammy and Grandad's house.

 We are still best dressed for sure!

This is one of my favorites.

We have busy days at the office.

We can almost sit up by ourselves...she's so close.

Tio came over, and we played, and napped.

We went to an Indian party for our friends 1 year wedding anniversary.  She loved all the colors in the outfits.

We were lucky enough to get a nice day or two, so we took the swing outside.  We can't wait for that nice spring weather so we can play outside more!

Man oh man, she is a blast!  She learns something new every day and she is so much fun.  We're really lucky, she is a GREAT baby!

Aurora is 4 Months Old!

Wow.  4 months already.  We are enjoying every single day.  She is more and more fun all the time.  You can actually watch her learn..it's insane.
We had our 4 month check up yesterday.  Here are our stats:
Length: 25 1/4 inches (90th percentile)
Weight: 15 pounds 7 oz (90th percentile)  See...she's eating enough..
Head circumference: 16 3/4 inches (90th percentile)  She gets this from her dad.

She's so big already!

We started school (daycare) this month.  She seems to like it.  She's picked up some interesting tricks..like screaming..just to hear herself.  Fun.

She prefers to sit up, so we cheat sometimes and use the Bumbo, so we can face each other.  She's putting everything in her mouth.  She's reaching and grabbing for things..and actually getting them. She likes being read to, but prefers books with bright colors.

She's a foxy lady!

We've been on a play date, with her new lover Andrew. We had a great time, and can't wait to play again.

We went to the aquarium, and loved it!  We got a season pass for Christmas, so we'll be going all the time.

It's pretty rare to get smiles on camera..but she does it all the time.

She's still a super sleeper.  We finally outgrew our Miracle Blanket (if you have a baby, get one..right now) So we quit swaddling cold turkey..no problems.  She transitioned to a sleep sack just fine..I don't know why we were worried.  

Everything is going really well at Casa de Rodgers.  The dogs love her.  We can't wait for some nicer weather so we can go for more walks, and go to the zoo.  

We're on our way to being 5 months old..don't miss it!

Aurora's 3 Month Photo Shoot

Goodbye 2013, Hello 2014!

What better way to ring in the new year than with some adorable baby photos?

We finally got Aurora's 3 month photos back.  They turned out surprising cute, considering she was having a crappy day. I'll go ahead and say it again, if you're looking for a photographer of any kind, do consider The Mullikin Studio.  They were so patient, and managed to get some cute shots.  

She was ultra suspicious of the camera.  She does the same thing at home.  She'll be talking or smiling, and as soon as the camera comes out..she's done. Turd.

She liked the texture of this blanket.  

Half way decent family shot.  She had had enough for sure by this time. 

I love this one..we're kissing, all happy with our little family, and she is wailing.  

She finally passed out.  We were tempted to just leave her for the day!

Aurora is 3 Months Old!

I'm not sure when this happened, but Aurora is 3 months old today.  It's also Christmas Eve.

We've done a lot in the last month...like gotten a lot bigger.  She now can only wear just a few 0-3 month things.  But of course she seems to be swimming in the 3-6 month stuff...not for long I'm sure.

We had her first Thanksgiving at our house.  The whole family came over.  Even Tio Vlad.  He's her favorite. 

She's still a super sleeper.  We have great mornings.  

We play a lot on the floor.  She loves the activity mat...and the cat. 

Giraffes are her favorite..because Tia KT made sure of it. 

The dogs love the time we spend on the floor too.  They both really love her. She loves to watch them walk around too. 

We are way better at tummy time.  She's almost got control of her giant dome.  

We had her first Christmas party with my brothers and sisters.  She got lots of awesome stuff.  

She loves Tia almost as much as Tio. 

She thinks she's pretty cute. 

She had her professional 3 month photos taken..we're still waiting to get them back.  She was having a bad day, and I'm sure they're having trouble finding any good ones.  We'll have to wait and see.  

We're working hard to hit her 4 month milestones.  I went back to work last week, and I definitely miss her a lot!

Plane Birthday Card

Hey, so I haven't done this in a while...

A card..

I did this one for a friend of mine's little boy who turned 2 in October.  Aurora was lucky enough to get an invite to his super cool plane themed party.  His mom did a great job..and set the bar high for A's first birthday.

I used the Cricut to cut the plane pieces.  I hand drew the clouds and added some white flocking to make them fluffy!  

I used silver embossing powder to make the propeller shiny..we don't have the technology to make it spin.

I've been working really hard on A's baby book..it's coming along nicely.  I've got a card or two on the horizon...but I'm betting baby pictures make it on here first.

Aurora is 2 Months Old!

We've been pretty busy this last month.  We're definitely getting the hang of this baby thing.

This last month has definitely been more fun.  She's awake more.  She's interested in stuff.

She's completely sleeping through the night, every night.  This means that she doesn't nap during the day, at all..which is hard sometimes.

We had our 2 month appointment yesterday (she's 10 weeks..but that's what happens when Thanksgiving holidays roll around...the doctor gets booked up.)  She's doing great.  She weighed in at 12lb 10oz  She's a little chunk.  She's 23 1/4 inches long.  With a head circumference of 16 inches.  She's 75th percentile for height, and 90th for both weight and dome size.  She's taking after her dad already.  

She's getting so big!

We hang out in our bouncer in the basement..we also bought a swing, hoping to encourage napping..she likes it ok..but she's not fooled into sleeping.

We visit Grammy a lot.  Daisy dog likes to get in the pen with her...she's looking for Aurora's pacifier...to chew.

Our first Halloween.  We went up to Weston to spend it with Jonathan's parents.

We've also been to mass.  She's only been to 1/2 a mass..Jon had to take her to the car half way through.

Tia KT brought Aurora this shirt from Belize..it's unBelizable!

We went to Cameron's 2nd birthday.  It was super fun!  4 toddlers and 4 babies.  We got our first mini-cold the following week.

She's got tons of great outfits!  We can hardly wear them all.

Oh, yeah!  And she smiles all the time!

I think we're really close to a laugh..I'm very excited!

Our 3 month pictures are coming up, I'm getting ready to head back to work, so things are going to get interesting around here.

Santa Baby

Just because she's tiny, doesn't mean she shouldn't get to sit on Santa's lap this year.

Jonathan and I had been dreading the visit to Mall Santa..neither one of us likes going to the mall.  Then waiting in line with a possibly screaming baby who like to poop on herself, to get a crappy photo.  Not worth the effort!  Enter The Mullikin Studio!  They've had a brilliant idea...they get Santa to come to their studio and you book a specific time to visit.  No waiting, no screaming, and best of all, no mall!  These are the people who took our maternity photos, and Aurora's newborn photos.  We're getting ready for her 3 month photos (can you believe it?!)  But in the mean time..

 Santa and Mrs. Claus.  Aurora is on the good list.

A personal favorite.  No crying, and no pooping, but a little yawning.

We tried for a smile, but couldn't get one.  Oh well.
