Anatomical Valentine's Day Card

What's this? A card?  Yes, I managed to find a little time to create something, besides babies.
My brother asked me to make him something for his girlfriend.  He's pre-med, and she's in med school already, so an anatomically correct heart seemed appropriate.

It's pretty simple.  My craft room isn't completely unpacked yet.  (it's been over a year, I know!)
I pressed the white paper with my Cuttlebug to give it the dot texture.  And it's got sparklies, I love sparklies!

The heart, I stamped and embossed it with clear powder.  So it's a little bit shiny, and raised up.

The inside I stamped Happy Valentine's Day, per my brother's request.
I guess he's happy with it.  I haven't heard, but I look forward to finding out how she liked it.
Stay tuned for more.. the ladies are nearly 6 months old!

UCM Graduation Card

I hope everyone had a Happy Easter (I'm currently uploading all the cuteness that went down, so look for that) But in the meantime..
I've been pretty busy making invitations for my sister's graduation party.  She's graduating this year with a double degree, one in Biology and one in Modern Languages.  It's pretty impressive, so we need to PAR-TAY!

UCM in Warrensburg is black and red.  Go Mules.

The card itself is pretty simple..it becomes a pain when you make a bunch of them.  I love the bow on this one.

Now that these invites are off my table, I can get back to Aurora's baby book.
Oh, by the way, her 6 month professional pictures are back, so I'll be sharing them soon! AND this week she turns 7 months old!  Shut the front door...I don't know where this time is going but we're all loving it for sure!
Stay tuned for more.
Same bat time, same bat channel.

Baby Charlotte Card

It's been a little while since I've posted a card.
A friend of mine recently had a baby girl.  They named her Charlotte!  Obviously I'm a fan of the name!

I love this paper, and I think this card was the perfect way to use it.

I love this little sheep.  I don't know if you can tell in the picture, but I put some flocking on it to make it fuzzy.  It's so cute!

The inside is pretty plain, plenty of room for my nice letter!

I'm so happy for their family.  They've got 2 beautiful girls now.

Speaking of beautiful girls...stay tuned for my girl's 6 month catch up.

Plane Birthday Card

Hey, so I haven't done this in a while...
Look!
A card..
I did this one for a friend of mine's little boy who turned 2 in October.  Aurora was lucky enough to get an invite to his super cool plane themed party.  His mom did a great job..and set the bar high for A's first birthday.
I used the Cricut to cut the plane pieces.  I hand drew the clouds and added some white flocking to make them fluffy!

I used silver embossing powder to make the propeller shiny..we don't have the technology to make it spin.

I've been working really hard on A's baby book..it's coming along nicely.  I've got a card or two on the horizon...but I'm betting baby pictures make it on here first.

Baby Shower Thank You Card

A couple weeks ago my sister threw me an awesome baby shower!
Lots of friends and family came and we got some super great stuff for Baby Rodgers.
I made these thank you cards for everyone.

Our nursery is orange and gray, so I stuck with that theme. The orange background is hand stamped with white ink.

There were 4 animals that I stamped, so everyone's was different.

The bow was actually the worst part, but I think it turned out really cute.

Baby Rodgers is expected in just 3 weeks!  We're getting very excited, and can't wait to put some photos of our nursery up here..and even better, cute snuggly baby pictures!

Baby Andrew Card

See, I've been crafting some..
A friend of mine just had her 2nd baby boy!  Since I made a card for his brother Cameron, I definitely needed to make him one of his own.  I can hardly wait to meet him!

I love whales/fish/ocean stuff for babies.  Andrew's nursery is gray and yellow, so I tried to stick with that.  I'm not going to lie, it ended up with way more blue that I originally set out to do, but I still like how it turned out.

Whales are so cute!

 And full of puns!

I do have a couple more cards to put up here..you know when I find the time.  Team Rodgers has been pretty busy getting ready for their own baby.  We've only got about 60 days to go!  Yikes!

New Year's Birthdays

I'm not late yet...it's still January..for a few more days.

My sister and my mother-in-law have birthdays that are very close together, so I thought we'd have a little 2 for 1 special.

My sister turned 20 this year..which is ridiculous.

She likes the outdoors, so I made flowers.  I made the leaves pop up, mostly because I thought it was cute.
It's sparkly, I got a new product, so I've been using it a lot...Perfect Pearls are fun!
I filled the card with a bunch of confetti with the numbers 1 to 20 stamped on them.

My mother-in-law had a birthday recently as well.  This tea set stamp is one of my favorites.

And Perfect Pearls makes it so much better!

I kept the inside pretty simple.

Team Rodgers went on vacation over the new year break...that will be next.
My coworker had her very adorable baby, so I made a very adorable card for that baby, but of course, you'll have to wait until it reaches its recipient before it gets put here on the blog.

Happy Tuesday.

Hello Baby! Shower Card

Hello Baby!
There is nothing I love more than making baby cards.  And baby cards for surprise baby showers are even better.
My friend at work is having a baby girl in January.  So everyone at work got together and fooled her into a surprise baby shower.  We paraded it as a department Christmas party.  She fell for the whole thing.  She had no idea.  I love it when a plan comes together.

I have a thing for prams.
I heard the nursery is pink and yellow.  I can deliver on that.

The pram was a little plain, so I used my Cuttlebug to emboss little dots onto it.  It needed a tiny something extra, and my Hello Baby stamp did the trick.

I kept the ribbon theme on the inside, with a little baby sentiment.
I am pretty pleased with how it turned out.

I am pretty excited for this little girl to be born, I know she's going to be adorable!
I'm even more excited to make her "name" card.  I've got some new toys in my scrap room that are perfect for a little girl card.  That will just have to wait until she's actually here though.  The count down is on!

The Dad's Birthday Card Blowout

Two birds, one stone.
I made some cards this fall for my Dad, and FIL birthdays.
Man-cards are really difficult, as we've discussed before..no bows, jewels, or ribbon..lame!

I made this one for my Father-in-law.

I've never used this stamp set, but I really like how it turned out.

I made this one for my dad.  His birthday is the day before Halloween.
I ran the whole thing through my Cuttlebug to get the texture.

I've got a few more cards to show.  I've got a baby card on deck, those are my favorite for sure.
Maybe we'll have a little Christmas Spectacular of my adorable dogs before Christmas gets here.

Peacock Birthday Card

I'm trying to do my Blogger duty and get some posts up.  It's been crazy busy, as usual...and computing just isn't high on the list...playing games and facebook, yes, editing and posting photos..not so much.
My mother had a birthday a few weeks back, so I made her a card..which is about all she'll let you do.

She loves peacocks...so much that she's dedicated an entire new house to them.

And I like shiny...oooh pretty. I used my iRock to set the gems, so they never come off...it's so much easier than trying to glue them.

The inside is pretty simple, you know for a nice birthday greeting.

The holiday season is quickly approaching.  Team Rodgers put up the tree this week...with way more help than we needed.  We're preparing for the last agility trial of the year. We've taken our Christmas card photos, and they're being printed right now, so look for them in a mail box near you.

Birthday Card Catch Up

Man! I am really terrible at this whole blog thing.
To be honest, I haven't had much time to craft, or anything else for that matter.  Team Rodgers is up to their eyeballs in weekend activities.  Lately dog stuff has consumed a fair amount of time..next week is the big Agility Trial..so be on the look out for that.
On the home front, we've gotten new kitchen counter tops..and we couldn't be happier!  I'll post some before and after shots of that.  We're also knee deep in refinishing our hardwood floors...I can't give a final report yet...day 1 didn't go so well..but there will be more on that as well.
I'm backlogged in cards.  I have been making a few.
Today is a helping of birthday cake, er, card.

I made this one for my friend at work.
She's getting older, like really old, so I thought I'd bring back the color combos from her youth.  Well I used my youth as an example.  I loved bright pink and blue and such when I was about 13 I think.  Who am I kidding, I still love this combo!

All the paper is Stampin Up, because that's how I roll.

Hopefully all that cake..er cards will hold you over until I can get something else up here.  I've got a birthday card from Jon's birthday too..so we've got the potential to have a few posts this week...

Hope everyone is enjoying their weekend..looks like Fall is finally here for real in KC.

Lego Birthday Card

So, I'm back on the card wagon.
I had a request to make a birthday card for a little guy who is having a Lego birthday.

So, I made a Lego card.  It was going to be easy when I started..turned out to be a mathematical nightmare. I guess we all need a little fraction to decimal practice every now and then.

I used my Cricut to cut out the letters for his name, and a teeny tiny stamp for the Happy Birthday.

I also used the Cricut for the 9..he's going to be nine. Cool right?

I hope he likes it..he's 9, I'm sure he will :-)

Team Rodgers is gearing up for a little excitement this weekend, we're planning to go to the Midwest Balloon Fest..weather permitting.
So look for hopefully some nice pictures of it.

Baby Julia Card

So, a friend of mine had a very pretty baby girl 2 weeks ago.  The gender was a surprise and they kept their name ideas under wraps as well...making card production difficult.
It was worth it in the end.

I love baby cards..and it's been a while since I've done a baby girl card.  It means I can use ribbon, and shiny things!

Her name is Julia, which is adorable.  I tried to make the card match the pictures I've seen of her nursery.

I love owls, and this one from one of my Cricut cartridges was perfect!

I left the inside blank, you know, for my nice message.

I've got a few other things I'm working on..so stay tuned.
Team Rodgers is gearing up for the Agility event of the summer..well not really, it's just the longest trial we've been to, and we're entering more events than we ever have.  We're hoping Oliver will weave himself to victory, bringing much honor to his family...the footage shall be interesting anyway.

Father's Day 2012

So it's almost Father's Day...
See this..it's EARLY!!
So, if you are a Father Figure in my life..stop reading..because these cards are on their way to you..right now.

I've been eyeing this card idea for a few years now.  It's from Dawn's Stamping Studio.  She's wonderful, and so are these cards.

 They're shirt and ties!!

I made 3.  One for my Dad, one for Jon's Dad, and one for Curt.

They open under the collar to show the message.  They are super simple to put together.  Just 1 piece of paper.

I hope everyone has some good Father's Day plans planned.
This Saturday is Oliver's 2nd birthday..maybe there will be a photo edition featured here...you know how I love that little dog.
We're also gearing up for another agility competition..so be on the look out for footage of our (hopefully) awesome victories!

Mother's Day 2012

So I'm a bit late..but it's been nuts around here.

I made some Mother's Day Cards this year.  They are pretty similar..which if you remember, is my plan for all Mother's/Father's day type events where multiple people will be getting cards on the same day.

I made this one for my mother.

And this one for Jon's mother.  He helped choose the paper.

Aren't my light tent pictures much more nicer than my other ones ;-)

I used my iRock to put the rhinestones on the flowers.

I kept the inside pretty blank for nice messages to our mamas.

I hope everyone has had a good week thus far..I'm hoping to get a start on Father's Day cards during this long weekend coming up..I've got a couple of other card related projects too.
