Baby Andrew Card

See, I've been crafting some..

A friend of mine just had her 2nd baby boy!  Since I made a card for his brother Cameron, I definitely needed to make him one of his own.  I can hardly wait to meet him!

I love whales/fish/ocean stuff for babies.  Andrew's nursery is gray and yellow, so I tried to stick with that.  I'm not going to lie, it ended up with way more blue that I originally set out to do, but I still like how it turned out.

Whales are so cute!

 And full of puns!  

I do have a couple more cards to put up here..you know when I find the time.  Team Rodgers has been pretty busy getting ready for their own baby.  We've only got about 60 days to go!  Yikes!

Lego Birthday Card

So, I'm back on the card wagon.

I had a request to make a birthday card for a little guy who is having a Lego birthday.

So, I made a Lego card.  It was going to be easy when I started..turned out to be a mathematical nightmare. I guess we all need a little fraction to decimal practice every now and then. 

I used my Cricut to cut out the letters for his name, and a teeny tiny stamp for the Happy Birthday.

 I also used the Cricut for the 9..he's going to be nine. Cool right?

I hope he likes it..he's 9, I'm sure he will :-)

Team Rodgers is gearing up for a little excitement this weekend, we're planning to go to the Midwest Balloon Fest..weather permitting.  

So look for hopefully some nice pictures of it.

Baby Julia Card

So, a friend of mine had a very pretty baby girl 2 weeks ago.  The gender was a surprise and they kept their name ideas under wraps as well...making card production difficult. 

It was worth it in the end.

I love baby cards..and it's been a while since I've done a baby girl card.  It means I can use ribbon, and shiny things! 

Her name is Julia, which is adorable.  I tried to make the card match the pictures I've seen of her nursery.  

 I love owls, and this one from one of my Cricut cartridges was perfect!

 I left the inside blank, you know, for my nice message.

I've got a few other things I'm working on..so stay tuned. 

Team Rodgers is gearing up for the Agility event of the summer..well not really, it's just the longest trial we've been to, and we're entering more events than we ever have.  We're hoping Oliver will weave himself to victory, bringing much honor to his family...the footage shall be interesting anyway.

Baby Cameron Card

Today I bring you one of my favorites..I love making baby cards. I've also decided this will be my sort of tradition. It started with Baby Jack and his card here. I've since decided to make a card with the baby's name on it for the parents, or the baby book, or whatever.

So my friend Lauren at work just had a baby. They didn't find out the gender beforehand..which drove me absolutely crazy!! They ended up having a little boy named Cameron, and he's really cute.

This is Cameron's card. His mom loves monkeys and she decorated the nursery in several colors to keep it sort of gender neutral.

Monkey! Courtesy of my Cricut, and Gypsy. The Gypsy really made cutting out the letters on different colored paper easy. It should have made cutting a monkey of the right size easy...but alas..I ended up with 3 monkeys before I got it right.

I used the same star paper on the inside.

I had this card done last week but I had to make sure it got to where it was going before I put it on here.

I still have a birthday card to show..and one or two to make.

A Surprise Baby Shower

We got really busy over the weekend, and I got really tired so that is why there has been a delay in posting.

Friday we went to the Royals game, and we won it..it was amazing! I like sports better in person I think. No pictures of the game, you'll have to use your imagination on that one.
We also did a little swim trial Friday afternoon. Oliver is not a fan. We have a problem, our tub doesn't fill up far enough, and Oliver can touch the bottom. Any suggestions on how to fix this would be appreciated. I do happen to have a video of the action (well lack of action actually) that hopefully I can get posted this week.
Saturday we had agility class, and as usual he was amazing. He even let Aunt KT handle him, it was a good thing all around.
We headed to the Ren Fest, I have pictures and video, so hopefully I can get that up this week too...
Sunday we went shopping for new clothes and luggage for the trip. We leave Tuesday, BAH! It's getting close. And I have to get all these things posted because as you know, there will be a post every evening of our trip so you at home can follow along.

But before all this happened, there was Thursday.

A friend of mine at work is having a baby, and we threw her a surprise shower on Thursday.

And I made this card for everyone to sign.

They have decided to not find out the gender of the baby (which is killing me!) so I had to go with gender-neutral...which is pretty difficult.

I took some help from my Cricut on the pregnant lady. I'm pretty happy with how it turned out. I love making baby cards!

I kept the inside pretty simple so there was room for everyone to sign it. I was even more surprised that we kept it quiet until it was time for the party.

I made little candies for the party for those of us who don't like cake. This is my candy making sweat shop.

They turned out really cute. They match the card. They were gone in a very short amount of time, chocolate doesn't last long around lab people.

I'm very excited for her to have the baby, I'm living vicariously through her, I have a pomeranian, and I'm thinking about getting another, so the baby horizon just moves farther and farther away.

It's already time for work, but I have the next 2 days off, so hopefully I can get some posts up.

Baby Jack Card

My coworker friend had a baby, and I've been working on an idea for a card for them..it took a long time, but here it is.


I think this card look way cuter in person. I was pretty happy with how it turned out. Since is just started with some paper...I had no plans, and ended up with a pretty cute card.
I used my New Arrival Cricut cartridge for the train. I'm not sure which font I used for the letters. The patterned paper is from my favorite paper stack by sei. It was almost perfect...like little train wheels. I punched holes in the wheels for the brads. And there is a strip of Bashful Blue satin ribbon behind it.

Oh yeah, also a border bunch from Stampin Up.

You've perhaps seen the inside stamp before..but I just love it. I used a bit of the patterned paper inside..so it's different.

I hope this card got to where it was going and that Baby Jack and his parents are doing well.

It looks like Kansas City survived Snowmageddon and we can get on with our lives.

Oh yeah, don't forget to check my Etsy shop, there's going to be new listings all the time as I did through my stash and hopefully take some slightly better pictures.

Baby Boy Sail Boat Card

So the card I have for today, and the one for tomorrow (ha maybe!) are a bit more simple than what I usually do, but then I think my style has been changing lately. Or maybe I'm becoming multi-styled..its a word. And I think that is way better than being only uni-styled...also a word.

Our real estate agent and his wife just had a baby about a week ago, so I made this card for them. (if your looking for one, I highly recommend this guy)

They had a baby boy, and I don't know much about their nursery or anything, so I tried to keep it pretty generic. And I like sail boats for little boys...so that's what I did.

This thing as more pop dots on it than is probably normal...but who cares. I used my Cuttlebug for the dark blue layer. The Cricut did the hard work of cutting out the little boat. I rounded all the corners because the cut our from the Cricut is rounded...and it's for a baby, sharp corners are dangerous.

I don't really have that many baby stamps, but this is one I do have..and really like. (you might see it again..don't be surprised.) It's a 2 step stamp, the set has lots of sayings, but this one was obviously the best.

It's Friday, and I've never been happier. We have no plans. I hope to get to the 3 C's. Cooking, cleaning, and my personal favorite, crafting.

A Fall Foliage Birthday Card

Today I have a birthday card I've been working on for the past few days. It's for Jonathan's dad. Jonathan had the original idea "leaves or something" and I ran with it. When it comes to cards for his family I generally make him get involved. He helped choose the colors and the paper, he even signed his own name inside, which doesn't always happen.

I'm really pleased with how this one turned out, and I'm a little sad to see it go.


All the paper is from Stampin Up. I used the Gypsy and Cricut to cut out the leaves. The Gypsy has a search function so I was able to see all the leaves I already had on my cartridges, this saved me tons of time. I used the Gypsy to arrange my mat so I could cut all the different leaves at one time..also a time saver.
I used Ranger Distress ink to distress every piece of paper to within an inch of it's life...but I like what it adds to the card.

The Happy Birthday stamp is from Hobby Lobby, or somewhere like it. The camera didn't really pick it up (big surprise there) but I used just a hint of yellow Glimmer Mist to spritz the leaves..they just looked so plain.

I had a few extra leaves to use in the inside, but otherwise it's blank.

I'm currently working on the first Christmas card of the season, and I hope to be able to finish it tomorrow, but we'll see.
